Saint Petersburg, Russia, Day 2 - Canal boat trip, Summer garden (Ле́тний сад)

Sometime in the morning, before 12pm.  Woke up and had breakfast and lunch which was salmon and salad.  It was served at home.  After filling up our tummies we spent a considerable amount of time looking at A's old photos.  Other people in general have so much more photos taken of themselves when they were younger.  That, or I have lost a great number of photos!

Around 5pm or so we went to Mayakovskaya metro station where we had some noodles at a place called "Yam Kee" and that was where we also met A's friend Yana (Яна).

Udon noodles, this one was with yellow chicken curry and the other one was udon as well with green chicken curry.  It wasn't so great, but we were hungry.

We then took a short walk to a boat cruise operator at the river fontanka near the Anichkov bridge and Anichkov palace and purchased tickets for a canal boat trip.  The cost of the ticket was 500 Russian rubles each.  This is the route that we took.

Direction of the cruise was clockwise from the starting point, through various canals, out to the Neva river and back.  The various pins indicate the location of the various photos shown below.

Here's photos taken from the cruise.  The guide spoke in Russian so I didn't understand anything, A. had to tell me what he said.

This was a drink stall located right next to the wharf.  I took this from the boat.

7pm We took a walk to the summer garden (Ле́тний сад).  We went past it along the way when we were on the cruise.  Half an hour later and we arrived.

Swans near the entrance to the summer garden.  You'll see them right after you got through the entrance.

8ish pm We went to a cafe called coffee station along ulitsa ryleeva where we had cheese cake, tea with mint, berry smoothie made from blackberries and a ginger milkshake.  And we played 3 rounds of jenga where I lost all 3 rounds.  My excuse is, well I don't have one.  So it was humiliating loss for me. :(  We took the bus back home after that.  Dinner was salmon, buckwheat and salad.  And we also had water melon that A's cousin bought.  Light out was probably close to midnight.
